RECOVERY SUMMARY Queue position: reassigned Verdict field: struck, then restruck

EXTRACTED DATA

374 kilograms is the batch weight recorded for post-blend release at facility Pendrake Fats, tank row 3, cure schedule for edible tallow drawn against Directive 17.12 (issue 2018, rev. 2, hand entry). The schedule calls for skim, hold, skim, and nothing else through the cure window, and the crew logged an extra step between the second skim and release: a decant with sediment left standing, the top layer drawn off and the bottom left undisturbed, a move that belongs to distillation cellars and appears nowhere in this facility's own cure card. Operator 04-812 signed the release line. Verdict at 20:52:55: FAIL — clarity below threshold, timestamped first. Struck through in the same ledger column. Second verdict beneath it, same batch, same tank: PASS — no operator name attached to the correction, no second timestamp entered in the correction field.

Clarity was re-measured on a second refractometer, same class of instrument as the first. The second unit returned a haze-index reading, a parameter built for filtered oils, not for tallow held at cure temperature — the mismatch was logged only after the number had already gone into the batch file.

The releasing-officer field on the cure card has carried the same entry, 04-812, for six consecutive cure cycles across three quarters. Nobody has queried it.

681 kg is the same batch weight as entered on the outbound manifest for cold storage, converted from the 374 kg release-tank figure by a factor the manifest does not show.

Operator 04-812 refused to countersign the storage transfer until the tank was walked back through skim once more, unlogged, off the card.

The extra step traces to no supplier spec, no plant instruction, no shift handover note — three crews, three shifts, same insertion point, no memo between them.

A Variety report dated 2026-07-26 on the casting of a September podcast triggered nothing in this file; the ledger entry predates it and the newsroom item is cited here only as the trigger for pulling archived cure cards under a routine backlog directive.

Operator 04-812 is three places back in the transfer queue this week, behind two release lines that came in after this one, and is drafting the shift handover for tomorrow's cure.
